My recent work focuses on Automatic writing in paint, gouache, and ink. The photographs and readable poetry of my previous body of work have for now given way to this writing that was always part of it. Automatic writing was popular with the Surrealists and Dadists who wrote unedited thoughts. In following this tradition I have explored automatic writing, spelling words non-sequentially, placing letters to follow a spatial and compositional rule. I layer trains of thought, hinting at meanings but not revealing them.
